This turret wagon was one of the most advanced pieces of equipment in the Chicago Fire Department during its time. It was equipped with powerful water delivery systems that allowed firefighters to tackle large fires from a safe distance. The vehicle was built on a strong and reliable Mack MB607T chassis, which provided excellent mobility and durability. The installation of the Stang monitors by the CFD shops showcased the department’s engineering capabilities. Over the years, the wagon was upgraded with new technology, such as the Eastman monitors in 1978, ensuring it remained a valuable asset. Despite being retired in 1983, its legacy lives on through the photos and records preserved by enthusiasts like Bill Friedrich.
