3-Alarm fatal fire in Bensenville, 11-19-17 (part 8)

More about the 3-alarm fatal fire in Bensenville, November 19, 2017

This report comes from Steve Redick:

I arrived on scene a week ago. The call started as a fire alarm and quickly escalated to a full response before the fire department even got there. There was one civilian fatality, likely from the fire in the apartment. When I arrived, the fire was already in the attic and spreading throughout the building. Water supply was an issue—local mains are small in this area. The smoke conditions were really intense, constantly shifting and hard to predict. As a fire enthusiast, it was exciting to see the first use of the brand new Bensenville rearmount E-ONE quint and the debut of Chicago FD Squad 7’s Snorkel. Squad 7 is based at Rescue Station 3 at O’Hare and covers the northwest side of the city, often responding to MABAS alarms in nearby suburbs. Their rig is the only one of the four squad sets that's lime green and rarely used for elevated master streams. This was definitely a test for them. I've included some of my favorite photos, and I highly recommend checking out the video and all the images here:
