On October 20th, the 2011 China Responsible Care Promotion Conference jointly organized by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and the International Chemical Manufacturers Association was held in Beijing. The active participation of many Chinese and foreign government departments, international social organizations, Chinese and foreign large-scale petrochemical enterprises, chemical industry parks, professional associations and local associations shows that the responsible care activities have entered a new era. According to the plan, by the end of the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan†period, the number of companies that have promised to implement responsible care in China's petrochemical industry will reach 80%. The Declaration of Responsible Care Action was also read at the meeting.

Li Yongwu summed up the achievements made by the entire industry in solidly promoting responsible care activities and deployed the next step in the petrochemical industry's responsible care action plan. The first is to strengthen the guidance of responsible care, further improve the organizational structure, through the establishment of the Responsible Care Committee, to strengthen the leadership and guidance of the industry to promote responsible care. The second is innovative ways and means to actively explore new ways of responsible care in line with China's national conditions. Third, continue to strengthen the propaganda and popularization of responsible care, and do a good job of implementing and improving the "Responsible Care Guidelines." Fourth, the demonstration role of large petrochemical enterprises in responsible care will be brought into play and substantial contributions will be made to the promotion of responsible care in the entire industry.
Wang Xiujian, chief engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will, as always, support the petrochemical federation to comprehensively promote responsible care in the entire industry, including the formulation of a responsible care implementation plan in line with China's national conditions, and establish model demonstrations.
Ge Ruipeng, chairman of the International Chemical Industry Association Federation Responsible Care Committee, said that the responsible care activities carried out by the China petrochemical industry are a great contribution to the global petrochemical industry. In the next step, the International Federation of Chemical Industry Associations will work closely with the China Petrochemical Federation to jointly promote responsible care activities.
