NPC's multiple bills promote healthy development of the industry
On March 2, the reporter learned from the NPC News Center that during the five sessions of the Tenth National People's Congress held last year, a total of 769 proposals and 6,091 suggestions were submitted by the delegates. All these proposals and suggestions have now been completed, with many already making a positive impact on key sectors such as the oil and chemical industries.
According to reports, the 769 proposals were reviewed by the NPC Standing Committee, and updates on the deliberations have since been submitted to the NPC Standing Committee. Some of these proposals have already taken effect and are contributing to the development of various industries. For instance, the proposal for the "Circular Economy Law" has led to the drafting of the "Draft Circular Economy Law," which incorporates the deputies' recommendations regarding clarifying government, enterprise, and public responsibilities, as well as establishing a comprehensive waste recycling system.
In addition, the "Labor Contract Law" was passed in June 2007, followed by the "Anti-Monopoly Law" in August 2007. The revised "Energy Conservation Law" was adopted in October 2007, and the "Water Pollution Prevention and Control Law" was approved in February of this year. These legislative achievements reflect the active role of the NPC in shaping policies that support sustainable development and economic growth.
The 6,091 proposals were submitted to 170 sponsors under the National Development and Reform Commission for further study and implementation. This demonstrates the extensive engagement of NPC deputies in addressing national priorities and promoting long-term policy improvements. The ongoing efforts highlight the importance of legislative work in driving progress across multiple sectors, including energy, environment, and labor rights.
