The 12,000 DWT bulk carrier "Fu Xun," built by Jiangxi Jiangzhou United Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., recently returned to Shanghai and officially handed over to the German shipping company Brugol. The vessel has now been registered with the Germanischer Lloyd (GL) classification society, marking a significant milestone in its operational journey.
The "Fu Xun" arrived in Shanghai on August 16 for sea trials. After conducting several trial runs along the Yangtze River, the ship reached Chengxi Shipyard in Jiangsu on August 18 to address navigation-related issues identified during the river trials and to meet the requirements of both the shipowners and the surveyors. The sea trial officially commenced on August 28, and after completing all system tests, the ship was successfully approved by the shipowner and the classification society.
With a total length of 138.07 meters, a beam of 21 meters, and a depth of 11 meters, the "Fu Xun" is designed for a draft of 7.50 meters and has a cargo capacity of 12,850 tons. It is equipped to handle a wide range of bulk cargoes, including containers, ores, coal, grain, iron ore, bauxite, salt, and cement, both in the hold and on the hatch. The ship is also capable of carrying heavy steel, steel coils, engineering equipment, forestry products, and consolidated cargo, as well as dangerous goods up to Class 8, in accordance with IMO regulations (SOLAS II-2/54).
Designed for global operations, the "Fu Xun" features a bulbous bow, a square semi-balanced rudder, and a continuously adjustable pitch propeller system. The ship’s hull structure includes double-bottom and double-side tanks, along with box bulkheads, ensuring high stability and safety. The superstructure is constructed with transverse framing in key areas, while the rest of the hull follows a vertical frame design.
As the fifth vessel in the 12,000 DWT series built by Jiang Shipbuilding, the "Fu Xun" represents the company's continued commitment to delivering high-quality, versatile bulk carriers that meet international standards and customer expectations.
