China Chemical Industry's "Eleventh Five-year Plan" focuses on patents
Ren Jianxin, the general manager of China National Chemical Corporation (Sinochem), recently announced at the Group Technology Work Conference that by the end of the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan," the company aimed to secure over 500 proprietary intellectual property patents and technologies, along with 1,000 effective scientific and technological achievements. The integration of digestion and absorption into re-innovation was planned for 10 industrial projects, targeting sales revenue and profits of 100 billion yuan and 5 billion yuan respectively.
In response to the growing competition from global chemical giants who are aggressively filing patents in China, Sinochem has embedded patent management throughout the entire process of technological innovation—from project approval and implementation to achievement evaluation and commercialization. By leveraging the patent system, the company is driving continuous innovation.
Among its subsidiaries with annual sales exceeding 1 billion yuan, many have established enterprise technology centers recognized by multiple countries.
