According to the Guangdong Meteorological Bureau, Typhoon “Kai Tak” landed at Huguang Town, Mazhang District, Zhanjiang City at 12:30 on the 17th, and the rated wind power near the center reached 13th grade. The author was informed on the 17th from the Zhanjiang Maritime Affairs Bureau in Guangdong that due to the impact of “Kai Tak”, currently there are approximately 32,000 passengers stranded on the north shore of the Qiongzhou Straits and more than 4,000 vehicles, delaying 276 trains.
It is reported that the Qiongzhou Strait began to stop at 16 o'clock on the 16th. At present, 15085 ships in the Zhanjiang area have been parked in sheltered anchorages, including 254 merchant ships and 14,801 fishing boats.
