Orland is on the site
The Orland Fire Protection District, serving the communities of Orland Park and Orland Hills, has recently been added to the site by Karl Klotz. His detailed contributions include photos of all six fire stations, as well as both in-service and reserve apparatus. Karl is just one ambulance away from completing the full listing—Ambulance #1 still needs to be captured. The department operates Pierce aerials, with engines supplied by either Pierce or Darley. All ambulances are custom-built by Road Rescue and are Type III units mounted on Ford E-450 chassis. The most recent engines and ambulances were delivered in 2008, making them some of the newer additions to the fleet.
In addition to their standard equipment, Orland Fire Protection District maintains several specialty units. These include a hazardous materials response unit, a small squad, a technical rescue team (TRT), a dive unit, a communications unit, and a fire investigation team. One of the more iconic pieces of equipment is the 55-foot Snorkel, which, while no longer in active service, is still used for public relations events and is stationed at Station 6.
Karl’s work provides a great visual overview of the district's operations and equipment. His attention to detail helps visitors understand not only what the department uses but also how it functions. Whether you're a local resident or just a fire equipment enthusiast, this new addition to the site offers valuable insight into the Orland Fire Protection District.
