Orland is on the site
The Orland Fire Protection District, serving the communities of Orland Park and Orland Hills, has recently been added to the site by Karl Klotz. This comprehensive update includes all six fire stations, along with details on the active and reserve apparatus. Karl is just one ambulance (#1) away from completing the full listing. The department operates Pierce aerials, while their engines are either Pierce or Darley models. All ambulances are built by Road Rescue and are Type III units mounted on Ford E450 chassis. The most recent engines and ambulances were delivered in 2008, making them some of the newer units in service.
In addition to their standard response units, Orland Fire Protection District maintains several specialty units, including a hazardous materials team, a small squad, a technical rescue team, a dive unit, a communications unit, and a fire investigation unit. One of the most beloved units among local residents is the 55-foot Snorkel, which, although no longer in active service, is still used for public relations and is stationed at Station 6.
Karl's efforts have provided a valuable resource for those interested in the fire services of Orland Park and Orland Hills. His photos offer a detailed look into the daily operations and unique equipment of this well-equipped department. Whether you're a local resident or an enthusiast, the information and images captured by Karl add real value to the site.
