Chicago Still & Box Alarm – 3/29/15

This is from Eric Haak: Around 4:10 PM on Sunday (March 29), the Englewood Fire Alarm Office reported a fire near the intersection of Garfield and Damen. The office quickly upgraded the incident to a full alarm just moments later. Engine 123 arrived to find a fully engulfed one-and-a-half story wooden structure. These photos were taken roughly 20 minutes after their arrival. [Attached are multiple images] The first photo shows Chicago Fire Department Engine 123 at the scene. You can see firefighters hard at work trying to control the blaze. This was captured by Eric Haak. In the next image, you have a closer look at the firefighters in action. They're clearly working under intense conditions as they battle the flames. Again, this was shot by Eric Haak. Another photo highlights the use of a tower ladder. A firefighter is seen operating from high above, aiming water directly at the heart of the fire. It's a dramatic shot that really captures the scale of the operation. Credit goes to Eric Haak for this image as well. There’s also a picture featuring Engine 101 from the Chicago Fire Department. It’s positioned strategically to support the main firefighting efforts. The photographer, Eric Haak, managed to capture the precise moment when the crew was actively engaged with the fire. Finally, one of the most striking images is the one showing the house almost completely gutted by the fire. The damage is extensive, and it gives a sense of how destructive such incidents can be. Once more, this was documented by Eric Haak. These photos provide an inside look into the challenging work done by the firefighters who responded to this emergency. Their dedication and bravery are evident in every frame. Thanks to Eric Haak for sharing these compelling visuals.
