· Volvo's sales of 51,914 models in the first half of the year did not perform satisfactorily

Halfway through 2017, various auto companies have also announced their semi-annual reports. According to data released by Volvo's official website, its global sales in the first half of 2017 were 277,641 units, an increase of 8.2% year-on-year. Among them, the total global sales in June was 5.7% year-on-year, reaching 54,351 units, and the cumulative sales volume in the Chinese market was 51,914 units, an increase of 27.6% compared with 40,688 units in the same period last year. China is still the largest single market for Volvo Cars.

From a single model, the XC60 is Volvo's best-selling model in the world, followed by the V40/V40 Cross Country, and the XC90 is in third place. In the Chinese market, sales of XC60 contributed 45%, and sales of the flagship XC90 in China accounted for only 6%.

The compact SUV, the XC60, has become the "world's best-selling model" in the Volvo brand with its low-key and stable appearance and high safety, but compared with the same level of Mercedes-Benz GLC and Audi Q5's monthly sales of over 10,000. XC60 monthly sales of more than 2,000 units are not eye-catching.

  The new generation XC90 is positioned in the class of luxury cars, and the XC90 is also the first product developed by Volvo after the acquisition of Geely, but the final sales did not meet expectations. The reason is that Volvo's brand precipitation time in China is still short, and the new car is less competitive than the BMW X5 and Audi Q7.

The S90 shoulders the heavy responsibility of fighting against the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the BMW 5 Series and the Audi A6L. However, it has not achieved the expected sales volume after the listing for a long time. The average monthly sales volume has not exceeded 1,000 units, and the S90 T6 will be made in Daqing. Whether it can compete directly with the Audi A6 and the BMW 5 Series after the price is lowered is still unknown.
