Our Next Chapter: A Letter from Andrew Anagnost

I'm truly honored to be leading Autodesk and serving as your CEO. Over the past 20 years, I've had the privilege of watching this incredible company evolve, innovate, and grow into what it is today. I'm incredibly proud of all we've achieved together. But let's be clear—our success isn't just about one product, one strategy, or one big win. It's the result of every single person on our global team, bringing their unique talents, passion, and ideas to the table. With that collective energy, I believe we're ready to take Autodesk in even more exciting and impactful directions.

Autodesk’s journey has always been driven by a balance between product innovation and strong business execution. We started with a mission to change how design was documented, brought 3D design to the mainstream, and became a trusted name in technology. We were pioneers in moving design to the cloud, to mobile, and to subscription models—and now, we’re pushing boundaries in the world of making. This is an exciting time for our industry, and for Autodesk.

The next chapter of Autodesk won’t be defined by innovation in products alone, or in business strategies alone—but by how well we combine both. We need to excel at both, always with our customers in mind. That means not only improving the tools we offer but also enhancing the overall customer experience. Our goal remains the same: to empower people to create a better world through powerful, intuitive, and innovative solutions.

As much as I’m excited about the future, today’s announcement comes with a touch of sadness. Amar Hanspal has decided to leave the company after an incredible 30 years of service. Amar and I have shared many challenges and moments over the years, and I’ll miss his leadership and vision. I want to express my deepest gratitude for everything he’s done to shape Autodesk into the company it is today. His contributions have left a lasting impact on our team and our products.

With Amar’s departure and my new role, I’ve asked Scott Reese to step in as the acting leader of the Product Development Group, and Lisa Campbell to lead Business Strategy & Marketing in the interim. I know it's hard to say goodbye to someone who has been such an important part of our culture and success. I’m committed to ensuring a smooth transition and will work closely with the leadership team to support the organization during this time.

Every day, I feel grateful to be part of this amazing company and to serve our customers. I can't wait to connect with you—our customers, partners, and investors—in the coming months. I love what we do here at Autodesk, and I believe the best is yet to come. Together, we'll continue to help people make anything, anywhere, and in any way they imagine.
