Latest Update: Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) has restored power to over 1.9 million customers and is now concentrating resources on the areas most severely affected by Hurricane Milton. The remaining outages are largely concentrated in regions that suffered extensive damage from the storm. FPL remains fully committed to restoring electricity to the approximately 69,000 customers still without power and is methodically working neighborhood by neighborhood until all customers have their service back.

Important Reminder: Some homes and businesses may require repairs by licensed electricians before FPL can safely restore power. If your neighbors have electricity but you do not, or if you live in an area declared "essentially restored," please call us at 1-800-4-OUTAGE (1-800-468-8243).

Words from FPL President and CEO Armando Pimentel: "Our crews have worked tirelessly to restore power to over 1.9 million customers. There’s still work to be done in some of the hardest-hit areas. Rest assured, our teams won’t stop until every single customer has electricity again."

Seeking Support: Some FPL customers may qualify for financial assistance to help cover costs associated with making their homes safe for electricity through FPL's Care to Share® program. This program is available for customers who need repairs to meter boxes and weatherheads. For assistance, customers can visit FPL.com/help. Those wishing to support hurricane victims can also contribute through this page.

What Customers Should Do Post-Storm:

  • Safety is FPL's top priority for both our crews and customers. Continue following local emergency officials' instructions.
  • Drive cautiously. Outages may cause traffic signals to malfunction without warning. Treat intersections with non-functioning signals as four-way stops.
  • If using a portable generator, follow manufacturer guidelines for proper use. Never operate a generator indoors or in a garage.
  • Stay away from downed power lines, floods, and debris. Assume all lines are live.
  • In case of emergencies, dial 911.
  • To report downed power lines or sparking electrical equipment, call 1-800-4-OUTAGE (1-800-468-8243).
