Autodesk, Taiwan Architecture and Building Center partner to develop smart building sector
In a recent development aimed at driving forward the digital transformation within Taiwan's architectural and construction sector, Autodesk and the Taiwan Architecture and Building Center (TABC) have joined forces through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This strategic collaboration seeks to empower professionals in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry by fostering advanced skills in smart building solutions and intelligent manufacturing technologies.
The partnership is anchored around promoting Autodesk’s Fusion 360 and Building Information Modeling (BIM), which are expected to revolutionize how architects and engineers approach their work. Fusion 360, already a staple in various manufacturing industries across Taiwan, is now set to bridge the gap between traditional practices and modern digital methodologies. As stated by Chin-Fu Yang, Chairman of TABC, "Autodesk Fusion 360 will redefine how the architecture industry operates here. It not only streamlines integration with existing workflows but also paves the way for smarter buildings, communities, and ultimately cities."
Adding depth to this vision, Jui-Lin Chen, Director of the Architecture and Building Research Institute, highlighted the pivotal role of BIM in advancing smart architecture. He noted that the Ministry of the Interior is actively pushing for increased local adoption of BIM and integrating it into public infrastructure projects, aligning with global trends in smart city development.
