US Department of Energy plans to adjust LED lighting facts guidelines

The US Department of Energy LED team is currently developing a new set of LED lighting facts that describe the performance characteristics of standard LEDs to help consumers and designers clearly distinguish between traditional and LED luminaires. In order to improve the reliability of the data on the factual label of LED lighting, the Ministry of Energy hopes to retest the product. But in the end, in order to avoid the expensive test costs of semiconductor lighting manufacturers, it was decided to delay the publication of new regulations.
Previously, at the Semiconductor Lighting Market Symposium in Pittsburgh, USA, the Department of Energy’s guidelines for adjusting LED lighting facts were discussed. The adjustments include retesting any modified luminaires in one year and sampling certain products from time to time to maintain product quality. (The manufacturer will bear the cost of these inspections.) However, the industry's response to retesting semiconductor lighting fixtures is too expensive, so the Department of Energy will reconsider the details of the adjustments and identify other data that can reduce test costs and increase LED product data. An alternative to reliability.
The Department of Energy also said that LED lighting facts will be combined with semiconductor lighting performance testing. Both tests will maintain the original functionality, but the data will be combined into a single portal for individual product evaluation.
The US Department of Energy's LED standards provide convenience for consumers and designers in the United States. China is now in short supply of LED lighting products related standards, and consumers do not have a good reference standard to choose LED lamps, which has adversely affected the development of China's LED industry. Therefore, China has also promoted the development of the LED industry by formulating relevant standards as soon as possible.
