Japanese car sales or recovery rebound in 2013

After three months of sharp decline in sales, the Japanese passenger car market share in China fell to 7.61% in October, which is the first time that Japanese cars have fallen below 10%. However, according to analysis, at the beginning of 2013, the Japanese car may bottom out.

A few days ago, a study from Gasgoo.com revealed that nearly half of the people think that sales of Japanese cars have bottomed out, and that the percentage of recovery rebounds in the first quarter and before next year is 64%. Many Japanese car companies are pushing for the introduction of new models while introducing safeguards that reassure car owners and potential owners.

The Gasgoo.com survey shows that about 50% of the respondents believe that sales of Japanese cars have bottomed out; 37% of respondents believe that they are not in the end, and another 13% believe that it is difficult to judge. In September and October this year, the sales volume of major Japanese automakers, such as Toyota Motor, Nissan Motors, and Honda Automobile, fell by more than 40%. However, the situation of major auto makers in November has improved and the decline has narrowed significantly. Nicholas Hirotoshi, Senior Vice President of Sales at Nissan Motors, said that in November, Nissan’s order volume in China had recovered to about 80% of the same period last year, and sales in China in November are expected to drop by about 25% year-on-year. Feng Xingya, deputy general manager of GAC Toyota Motor, told reporters that in November, GAC Toyota’s terminal sales had apparently recovered.

Gasgoo.com said that 64% of respondents believe that the Japanese car sales in the first quarter of next year and before will show a rebound rebound. Among them, 17% of respondents believe that the rebound has already occurred, about 29% of respondents believe that Japanese car sales will rebound in December, 28% of respondents believe that the first quarter of next year will rebound.

Major Japanese car companies began to rethink Chinese strategies. Toyota Motor has the most rapid response. During the Guangzhou Auto Show, Toyota Motors said in a high-profile manner that it changed from the “Toyota China” to the “China Toyota” and conveyed the intention of Toyota’s intention to take root in China. GAC Toyota and Dongfeng Nissan define themselves as Chinese companies. Ren Yong, deputy general manager of Dongfeng Nissan, said that the definition of the ethnic attributes of a company in other countries adopts the principle of territoriality, that is, Japan's domestic joint ventures registered in China and pay taxes to the local government should be included in the list of Chinese companies. Relevant data show that Dongfeng Nissan has accumulated tax payments of several billion yuan only in Huadu, Guangdong.

Compared with September and October, sales of Toyota Motor in China are improving, and sales of GAC Toyota in November increased by 9% year-on-year.
