On March 14, the price monitoring center of the National Development and Reform Commission sent an e-mail to the reporter saying that through the monitoring of 36 large and medium-sized cities throughout the country, the prices of the national auto market declined mainly in February, and the prices of domestic cars and imported cars all declined to varying degrees.

Domestic car prices continue to decline. In February, domestic auto prices fell by 0.28% from the previous month, which was a 0.95% decrease from the same period of last year. Among them, the prices of passenger cars and commercial vehicles both fell slightly.

The monitoring showed that the price of passenger vehicles continued to decline slightly, which was a decrease of 0.10% from the previous month and a decrease of 1.61% from the same period of last year. Among them, the price of sports passenger cars decreased by 0.34% month-on-month, and was 0.75% lower than the same period of last year; the price of minivans was unchanged from last month, down 0.37% year-on-year; the price of basic passenger cars was up 0.16% month-on-month, down 2.87% year-on-year.

The overall price of commercial vehicles declined slightly, by 0.50% QoQ and 0.10% over the same period of last year. Among them, the price of commercial buses dropped by 0.81% month-on-month and 0.34% year-on-year. Among the subdivided models, the price of light buses dropped by 0.09% month-on-month, 0.26% higher than the same period of last year; the price of large-sized passenger cars decreased by 1.08% from the previous quarter and decreased by 0.57% from the same period of last year; the price of commercial trucks decreased by 0.04% month-on-month and 0.24% over the same period of last year. .

It is worth noting that the price of imported cars has accelerated. In February, the prices of imported cars continued their downward trend, decreasing from the previous month by 0.60% to 1.57%, a decrease of 3.69% from the same period last year. Among them, the price of imported cars dropped by 0.56% month-on-month and decreased by 4.40% year-on-year; the price of imported SUVs fell by 2.59% month-on-month and decreased by 2.98% year-on-year.

In an interview with reporters, Cheng Xiaodong, chief analyst of the National Development and Reform Commission's Price Monitoring Center, said in an interview with reporters that the auto market has continued its sluggish growth for the past year. In January, production and sales have fallen sharply, demand has weakened, and both production and sales have fallen by more than 20% year-on-year, and the market stabilized in February. Demand has picked up, and it is expected that demand will experience a slow and gradual recovery process. Affected by this, prices will continue to maintain a steady decline.
