Autodesk Launches New BIM Specialist Certification Program

Now Available: BIM Workflows for Roads and Highways Using Infrastructure Design Suite 2014

The infrastructure sector is undergoing a major transformation. With aging systems and the growing demand for new infrastructure to support a global population expected to reach 9 billion, the need for smarter, more efficient project delivery has never been greater. Fortunately, the increasing adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) is helping the industry meet these challenges head-on. While BIM is gaining traction, one of the biggest hurdles remains the need for professionals who can effectively apply BIM workflows. To address this, Autodesk has launched a specialized training program and BIM Specialist certification designed to build real-world BIM skills beyond just product knowledge. A groundbreaking Autodesk Official Training Guide (AOTG), titled Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite 2014: BIM Workflow for Roads and Highways, is now available from Ascent Publishing. This comprehensive guide showcases the full potential of the Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite 2014 Ultimate, with a focus on using Autodesk InfraWorks as part of a powerful BIM workflow for road and highway design. It's also an essential resource for those preparing for the BIM Specialist certification exam. This course isn't just about learning software tools — it’s about understanding how BIM can transform the entire project lifecycle. From initial planning and design to visual communication and construction documentation, the training simulates a real-world roadway project using an integrated BIM workflow. The suite includes AutoCAD Civil 3D, Autodesk InfraWorks, Autodesk InfraWorks 360, and Autodesk Navisworks Manage — all working together to improve efficiency, optimize designs, and speed up approvals.
