March slowdown in production and sales of new energy vehicles

According to statistics from China National Automobile Association, in March, 25,246 new energy vehicles produced 22,936 vehicles, an increase of 54.8% and 46% year-on-year respectively. The production and sales of pure electric vehicles were completed in 18,818 and 17,637 vehicles, respectively, a year-on-year increase of 63.5% and 60.5% respectively; the production and sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles were completed 64,28 and 5299 vehicles, respectively, an increase of 33.8% and 12.3% respectively.

Based on a comprehensive analysis, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in March achieved steady growth compared with the same period of last year, but the growth rate slowed down significantly.

In the first quarter, China produced 62,663 new energy vehicles and sold 58,125 vehicles, which was an increase of 1.1 times and 1.0 times respectively over the same period of last year. Among them, the production and sales of pure electric vehicles completed 46,348 and 42,131 vehicles, respectively, an increase of 1.4 times over the same period of the previous year; the production and sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles completed 16,315 and 15,994 vehicles, respectively, an increase of 46.9% and 43% respectively over the same period of last year.
