According to statistics, the device can save 9876 tons of standard coal per year for the enterprise, and has significant energy-saving and emission-reduction effects.

The company's technical personnel introduced that in the production process of sulfuric acid, the burning of sulphur-containing raw materials, the oxidation of sulphur dioxide, and the “dry-absorption” of sulphur trioxide were accompanied by a large amount of chemical energy release. Among them, the sulfur-rich feedstock combustion and the high/intermediate-temperature residual heat in the sulfur dioxide oxidation process, which account for about 70% of the total heat released in the sulfuric acid production process, already have relatively mature waste heat recovery and utilization technologies and have been widely applied. However, the recovery and utilization of large amounts of low-temperature heat generated during the dry absorption process, which accounts for about 25% of the total heat released during the production of sulfuric acid, is severely restricted due to the strong corrosiveness of high-temperature concentrated sulfuric acid. Generally, it can only be transferred using circulating cooling water. Walk away and waste.

In September 2006, Longsheng Group built a 300,000-ton/year sulfur-based sulfuric acid plant in Shangyu Industrial Park. Apart from supplying sulfuric acid raw materials for the company's other chemical business, the large amount of steam produced by the high/medium-temperature waste heat utilization by-product also contributes to the company's energy savings. Consumption has played an important role. In order to overcome the industrial difficulties of low-temperature waste heat recovery and utilization, in 2007, Longsheng Group started a low-temperature recovery and transformation project and organized scientific research forces to focus on research. During the implementation of the project, it received strong support from government departments and was included in the national energy-saving technological transformation project in 2008, and won the national financial incentive for energy-saving technological transformation in 2008.

After unremitting efforts, the project team eventually adopted the advanced technology and equipment that is resistant to high temperatures and high concentrations of sulfuric acid to recover and use the low-temperature heat generated in the sulfuric acid production process to produce low-pressure steam, achieving the desired goals.
