Liebherr R954C delivered Beijing Kaisheng Adrar cement project in Algeria

In August 2016, Liebherr signed two R954C procurement contracts with the China Building Materials Glass and Glass Industry Design and Research Institute on the Algerian STG cement production line project of Beijing Kaisheng Building Materials Engineering Co., Ltd. The equipment was manufactured by Liebherr-France and delivered to Oran Port in Algeria in November 2016. It was put into use in February 2017.

Adler’s 4,200t/d cement project in Adler, southern Algeria, is designed to produce 4,200 tons of clinker per day and produce 1.5 million tons of ordinary portland cement annually (including 200,000 tons of oil well cement).

The scope of work includes a full range of production lines from mining to delivery of finished cement products. China National Building Materials Beijing Kaisheng Building Material Engineering Co., Ltd. undertakes engineering design, equipment supply, civil construction, equipment installation, personnel training, production commissioning and compliance assessment services.

In terms of power, the Liebherr R954C is equipped with Liebherr's own D936L engine. The D936L has a power of 240 kW and is connected to the excavator control system using a CAN-BUS bus. The engine output power is adjusted according to the load demand, and it has the function of automatically idling when idle.

The cooling system of Liebherr R954C is very characteristic. It consists of two cooling modules arranged side by side and arranged on the right side. It includes engine coolant radiator, hydraulic oil radiator, intercooler, gearbox lubricant radiator, fuel cooler And air conditioning evaporator. This kind of design tries to avoid the multi-layer arrangement radiator, makes the heat dissipation effect better. Each cooling module has a fan driven by a hydraulic motor. At the same time, the cooling fan motor is in a separate closed circuit, driven by a separate hydraulic pump. The control system controls the operation of the fan based on data from multiple temperature sensors.

R954C's fuel tank, hydraulic tank and hydraulic pump are arranged on the left side. The hydraulic system is different from the same grade product. It adopts a separate closed rotary circuit. The rotary motor is driven by a separate rotary pump. This kind of design often appears only on excavators over 100 tons. The advantage is that the priority of the slewing function is ensured, the maneuverability is flexible, the productivity is improved, and the engine power can be fully utilized.


Respond to harsh conditions

In addition, the boom and stick cylinders of the R954C are equipped with safety check valves and incorporate advanced regeneration functions. During the pressureless descent of the boom or stick, the hydraulic oil can be routed directly into the low pressure chamber via the tube to avoid passage through the main Control valve to reduce energy loss and shorten cycle time. At the same time, the cylinder also has a terminal buffer function, which can extend the service life.

In response to severe conditions, the R954C's booms and sticks are made of cast steel and welded with high-strength steel plates to withstand impact and have a longer life. According to the user's working conditions, R954C can be equipped with working devices such as front, back shovel and extension arm, with a bucket capacity of 3 cubic meters to 3.3 cubic meters to choose from.

The shape of the bucket is perfect, with features such as deep digging and high fill rate, and the pin is also sealed and low maintenance. In addition, the new Liebherr Z-type self-sharpening tooth system ensures that you can always maintain a powerful digging ability during long working hours. The chassis uses a high-strength chassis, strong structure, large bearing capacity, molded double-sprocket sprocket has a longer service life, low failure rate.

In terms of safety protection, R954C's windshields and sunroofs are made of impact-resistant safety glass and can be equipped with various protection devices and systems required for quarrying operations, such as: FOPS, rollover protection devices for falling objects. Piston protection cover for ROPS, joystick, and bucket cylinders, as well as protective lubricating hoses and swivel guards.

In order to facilitate routine maintenance and repair work, the R954C is also equipped with Liebherr's automatic centralized lubrication system. The driver only needs to manually maintain a small number of pins of the bucket and linkage mechanism.

The R954C is produced at Liebherr's Korma plant in the Alsace region of France. All key components are produced at Liebherr's facilities throughout Europe and the quality of the products is more assured.
