International RIT Training in Bensenville

The training sessions continue at the **O’Hare Modernization Property** in Bensenville, offering a unique and hands-on learning experience for firefighters from across the U.S. and around the world. This week, participants included not only local fire departments but also international teams who came together to master the critical skills required for Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) operations. The 40-hour course was led by **RICOFIRERESCUE, Inc.**, a specialized training organization founded by Lt. Mike Mason of the Downers Grove Fire Department. Throughout the week, trainees practiced various real-world scenarios using three different structures, each designed to simulate challenging rescue conditions. The final day featured intense drills, including a scenario where a firefighter—referred to as “Captain Black”—was trapped due to a floor collapse. The setup for this exercise is visible in John Tulipano’s photo gallery, while a smoky video of the rescue can be viewed on Larry Shapiro’s website. The video highlights the difficulty of navigating through low-visibility environments, which mimics actual emergency situations. What makes this training particularly interesting is the collaboration between international teams. RIT 1 consisted of firefighters from France, while RIT 2 was made up of English-speaking U.S. firefighters. To ensure clear communication, a bilingual instructor translated between French and English during the exercise, allowing all participants to stay informed and work effectively together. Several photos from the event are available online. One image shows a firefighter from Germany entering one of the training buildings as part of a rescue operation, captured by Larry Shapiro. Another photo illustrates the smoky conditions that were used to simulate limited visibility during the rescue. A third image shows the RITs carrying the victim out of the building, emphasizing the teamwork and coordination required in such high-stress situations. Finally, a fourth photo captures the wall breach after the exercise, showing how the team accessed the trapped firefighter. This kind of cross-border training not only enhances technical skills but also fosters global cooperation among emergency responders, ensuring that firefighters are better prepared for any situation they may face.

Thermal hybrid design technology enables plates of the same specification to have a wider range of adaptability to working conditions. Two angle plates are used in the plate structure design to form three channels, realize five channel combinations, and ultimately achieve PHE energy-saving requirements. Through the heat transfer calculation software simulation with THT's independent intellectual property rights and the optimized combination of plate channels, the optimal selection of heat transfer performance and resistance is achieved, saving investment for customers.
The movable plate is equipped with a double roller bearing sliding mechanism, making the disassembly and assembly of the movable plate more flexible and faster.
The surface of the carbon steel frame is painted using advanced electrostatic spraying technology, combined with a high-temperature curing process to make the paint film stronger, have better adhesion, have stronger anti-corrosion properties, and be more environmentally friendly.
Advanced frame quick installation system, the front clamping nut is integrated with the screw through a locking bolt, and is equipped with a bearing box. The rear clamping nut is prevented from loosening by a unique locking sleeve. When disassembling and installing the equipment, you only need to tighten or loosen it. The front clamping nut is all it takes. Maintenance, disassembly and assembly are more convenient and faster, typical humanized design.
