Finland develops natural gas fuel cell system

The communique issued by the Finnish National Technical Research Center recently stated that the center has developed a unique fuel cell system that can generate electricity from natural gas and generate electricity from the grid. Experts from the Finnish National Technology Research Center said that they first assembled a single plate-type solid oxide fuel cell stack of 10 kilowatts into a system two months ago and tested it under actual operating conditions.

The center pointed out that increasing the power of a single fuel cell stack can create conditions for the future construction of large-scale solid oxide battery power plants. Currently, the power of a single flat fuel cell stack on the market is mostly from 0.5 kW to several kilowatts. If a fuel cell technology is used to build a power plant, many fuel cell stacks are needed, and the cost of assembly, maintenance, and management is high. Increasing the power of a single flat fuel cell stack can reduce the construction and maintenance costs of this new type of power plant.
