The J6 series fire truck chassis project started on October 20, 2010. The model technical documents were issued on December 10, 2010. The first round of test equipment was completed on March 8, 2011 and delivered to the conversion company for modification. After the completion of the conversion, the first 4 J6 fire engines were delivered to Jilin Province Fire Corps on July 25, 2011. It is expected that the remaining 52 vehicles will be delivered to the Corps in succession at the end of August.

However, J6 products are scarce in the field of special vehicles. As the J6 fire-fighting chassis was first matched with key core assemblies such as automatic transmissions and sandwich power take-offs, the design of the vehicle was difficult and the task was heavy. Under the leadership of Minister of Technology Zhao Guoqing, the departments of the design department cooperated with each other and actively created conditions for the development of the chassis. The director and design team of special vehicle design studio Huang Gongping, through reviewing a large number of fire truck standards and regulations, fully understands the technical requirements of the chassis and vehicle of the fire engine, and fully communicates with users and refitting companies during the design process. The final technical solution fully meets the requirements of the fire trucks. Performance requirements. During the development process, the fire truck chassis design team worked overtime every day until 9:00 pm and after nearly two months of hard work, the chassis development work was completed ahead of schedule.

The development of the J6 series of fire trucks increased the number of special vehicles for liberation, increased the research and development capabilities of special vehicles chassis, improved the competitiveness of liberated vehicles, and laid a solid foundation for the development of the domestic fire engine market.
