Vietnam will realize self-supply of urea and export from 2012

According to a report by Vietnam’s “Financial Times” on February 1, the Vietnam Fertilizer Association (FAV) stated that in 2012, an annual production capacity of 800,000 tons of Jinjing nitrogen fertilizer plant under the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group and an annual output of 560,000 tons of fertilizer plant will be put into operation. After bringing the total urea production capacity to 2.36 million tons, which is twice the level in 2011, Vietnam will achieve nitrogen fertilizer self-sufficiency for the first time. Among them, the demand for urea in 2012 was only 1.8 million tons. Therefore, it is not only to achieve self-sufficiency in the demand for urea in agricultural production, but also to end the history of uncontrolled urea imports for many years. According to the current production capacity, there are 560,000 tons of surplus every year. Therefore, fertilizer manufacturers will look for export markets and open up sales for domestic production.
