Recently, Wessels Reederei has signed a contract with Mann Diesel & Turbo at the European Port Ship Technology Exhibition to convert the 8L48/60B main engine of the former 1000teu container ship "Wes Amelie" into a dual fuel operation, which will become this The first ship in the class to carry out LNG propulsion modification.

The “Wes Amelie†was launched in 2011 and there are currently 23 sister ships in operation, 16 of which are identical in structure, meaning that later modifications will be easier.
