According to the report of "American Automotive News," Federal-Mogul recently opened a piston ring plant in Puebla, Mexico, to provide steel and iron-cast piston rings for customers in North America and South America. The new factory will cost US$15 million to build and will initially employ 120 people. After a certain development in this area, more jobs will be added. However, the company did not disclose the factory's floor area. The Puebla plant is the seventh plant of the Federal-Mogul Power Systems Division. At present, Federal-Mogul is undergoing restructuring and the headquarters will soon be relocated to the suburbs of Detroit. In early September, Federal-Mogul announced that it will split its Powertrain and Vehicle Parts Solutions divisions and market it as two separate companies. The Vehicle Fittings Solutions Division is expected to complete its independence and listing in the first half of 2015 and is currently waiting for review by the US regulatory authorities.
